 - Leather Is Torture - Davide Canepa

Just an object, just a fashion accessory or a practical material, that's how they all considered leather. Behind that piece there was enough suffering to blow up their hearts, but most humans lived ignoring the screams of pain, they couldn't hear the desperate voices of agony, and couldn't see the rivers of tears, the oceans of pain where all the victims were immersed. It was nobody's fault, only a dense chapter in human history, but animals didn't hold a grudge, they knew no revenge and when the walls surrounding the death's factories finally came down they were ready to live in peace with people again. It was a lesson of love and compassion that our non-humans friends taught us.

 - Consume - Davide Canepa

In the industrial era, we produced more than we needed, so we had to convince people to work in the companies somehow related to the big factories in order to earn more money to spend on the products they were contributing to generate. In the vicious circle of slavery what mattered was the growing production of any possible good, it was not important if people were buying medicines or weapons because the main point was to keep on going the working machine. Humans became consumers and the produced items became heavy chains that gradually covered the world with a thick layer of rubbish, we can easily say that waste was the most evident consequence of that blind and limited attitude. When all the elements were poisoned by the human activity consciousness came to action and activated a completely different state of being, it was the beginning of awareness and the end of needless mass production, in fact individuals weren't masses anymore.

 - Will Humans Manage To Repair The Blue? - Davide Canepa

During the long night of Pisces there was no connection between people and nature, all the living beings, including humans, were paying the price of a behaviour based on greed and ignorance. In the darkness each person was identified with a figure, an idea of life purely material and thought that everything had to be physical too, because what people couldn't find outside was a reflection of what they already had inside, in reality we've been always one unique body with the whole. The next rising sun finally brought light to their paths, sea and sky were deeply suffering and people could finally realize in the bright day what they had done during the previous night. They started working on their mistakes, they discovered compassion and thanks to the sunshine it was possible to cure the blue and merge with it. The damages were still visible for many weeks.

 - Every End Is A New Beginning - Davide Canepa

A fetus was comfortable in the mother's womb, it was a never ending sweet dream, everything was balanced and life seemed just perfect. After 9 months there was a sudden strong pressure, all around hard walls of fear, for the first time the fetus was scared it could be the end of the world. It all finished in a shocking, endless instant, everything was gone and a baby was born.

 - The Source Of All Things - Davide Canepa

Leaves, lightnings and blood vessels, everything shaped like the big river. We are born in the Source, the main water that gathers all things. During our journey we might go up a stream and then another one until we climb the highest mountain in the world, yet in the best circumstance we would be just high, but most probably lost and tired in one of the branches, far from the origin. Return to the Source, this is our duty, we don't have to force anything, we don't have to become anything, just follow the flow without opposition until we join the great ocean.

 - The Initiate - Davide Canepa

In the early age of humanity we started to section life in pieces because we could't understand the totality and we wanted to grab at least little parts of the whole, this would have made us special, better than the others. We divided reality into fragments, nature into concepts and people into groups but we were still all humans. We invented rituals to celebrate any new member of a specific clan and we made sure that every group would believe to be special, the only one holding the answer, the only one protecting the truth, exactly like each of its components. In the name of truth all those groups were only spreading violence, and each small treasure they were holding was only an old rusty key of an unreal lock. After the big fishermen's boat sank in the wise ocean, all of us were swimming in the same water, united by the power of nature, it was then clear that we didn't need any special key, because we were the answers and the questions.

 - Choose Your Nutrition - Davide Canepa

The external environment influences us and therefore we are the co-creators of that level of life called reality. Sound waves have the power to modify the cells of everything that is alive, they have the power to alter the forms depending on the source of a specific vibration. What originated the sound, the idea, the manifested, is the unseen, unheard, unmanifested truth, behind the perceptible there's the power that created it, this is the essence and we have the ability to discern and understand it. Music is an important source of energy and there's no choice than to carefully choose how to feed our souls, because what we often consider insignificant could be the key of our rise or the accomplice of our fall.

 - The Blues - Davide Canepa

In the stage of madness countless people were deprived of their lives and brought to the big colony as slaves. It was in that barless prison that a revolution began and it was not fought with weapons but with hearts. The victims' cry of pain liberated such pure and strong energy that something new was born, it was called The Blues, and it changed the music history. Let's not underestimate the power of artistic expression.

Die Ausstellung läuft bis zum 25.11.2017 im Rahmen der Neustadtfestival-Rundgänge.> [So happy to see my #picturebook at the book fair in #Frankfurt. #nilpferdverlag #kinderbuch #picturebook #frankfurterbuchmesse #booklovers #bookillustration #Bilderbuch #bookfair #illustrator #fox #christmas](https://www.instagram.com/p/BaHZX_nlZvg/)

 - Repetition - Davide Canepa

In nature every year the four seasons make their course, although we classify them with an image, or concept, that we invented and call them with the same name, every single season is different than the others, every season is unique; and so every month, day, hour and second is the only pure and real moment of presence called Now. Are we chained by repetition or are we present: Here, Now?

 - Just Take Off - Davide Canepa

In our childhood we were astonished by how magnificent nature is, we were looking at the birds and wished we could fly like them. With our imagination we could already fly but it wasn't enough, we had to experience it, we had to conquer the blue. That's why we created metal birds that would bring us up to the sky. Later our aeroplanes became just a means of transport, we were using them for our daily activities including wars, and the magic taste of flying vanished like a soap bubble. Now that we are adults we know that to fly we don't need any instrument and we don't need to go anywhere, from the beginning we had everything available to leave the ground, here, now.
